Grandma's American Home Cooking recipes will surprise you!  As Americans, when we think of Sunday dinner, a weekend barbecue in the backyard, or a traditional country breakfast, we think of the foods that our families prepare in our particular household.  Because America is known as "the melting pot" of the world,  just what is American Traditional cooking?   To me it is simply delicious food, prepared with love, that provide a sense of warmth and comfort.  Above all, our way of cooking provides an opportunity to exercise a tradition that seems to be slowly fading away.  The tradition of sitting down with our family and enjoying each others conversation and a wonderful meal.  It didn't matter if we were grilling out on Saturday evening (always done by my Dad) and it was 90 degrees outside, the aroma from the grill provided a state of anxiety in that we couldn't wait for the food to hit the table so we could begin eating.  But the food was not served until everyone was present at the table, at the same time, and where a blessing was given in thanks for the wonderful food.  Then later that evening when my Mother made her weekly pound cake,.  So what if the electric mixer being plugged into the electrical outlet interfered with watching our favorite Saturday evening TV episode of "Lawrence Welk" or "My Three Sons".  Boy, I'm sure there aren't many below the age of 40 that will remember these shows!  So visit some of the wonderful recipes that were compiled through my years of cooking American foods.  Most of all, remember that American foods, whether they can be described as "comfort, country, homecooking, or your grandma's cooking", can emcompass whatever types of food are prepared in your household.  These foods put a smile on our faces and sense of comfort in the bottom of your stomach.  Let's get started on some of those mouth-watering recipes that my family and friends loved and are still preparing today!  I'm sure that your family and friends are going to enjoy them just as much.
